Hi there, i got this error:
Hi, thank you for reporting this.
May I ask where you got the source file from?
Yes, from Nexa Node | Nexa Blockchain
Thank you.
Restarting the node should solve the issue. However, you’ve “found” a pre-release version accidentally appearing on the main site, which has not been released yet.
If the issue persists after the restart, please keep us informed.
Restart didn’t help .
I downloaded the previous version. same problem
have you backed up wallet.dat before the update?
Yes i made backup of wallet.dat
Thank you again for reporting this.
The assertion you are seeing means the wallet was unable to open or write its log file inside its data directory. That usually comes down to one of a few things: the data directory does not exist, it exists but is not writable, the path contains a character Windows cannot handle, or a security tool (antivirus) is blocking access to it.
To pin down the exact cause, please send the following information:
-
Windows version. Which edition and build are you on? (Press Win+R, type winver, and paste what it shows)
-
Data directory path. Are you running the default location or a custom one set through a desktop shortcut, a -datadir argument, or nexa.conf? Please paste the full path. (Does it contain any non-English or accented characters, including in your Windows user name?)
-
debug.log. Open Explorer, paste %APPDATA%\Nexa into the address bar, and press Enter. Does a file named debug.log exist in that folder? Can you create or edit a file there by hand, or do you get access denied or read-only?
-
Free disk space. How much free space is on the drive that holds the data directory, usually C:?
-
Security software (optional but useful). Do you run any antivirus, or have Windows ransomware protection or Controlled Folder Access turned on? Open Windows Security, go to Virus and threat protection, then Protection History, and tell us if you see any block on nexa-qt.exe.
That information will let us confirm the cause.
Windows version is 23H2 ( 22631.6199 )
Have default data directory path ( Yes have non-English characters in Windows user name )
No debug.log
Have 200 GB free space on drive that hold data directory
Have antivirus, but antivirus dont block anything
There is an issue with non-English characters in the main directory. We will be looking into it as soon as possible.
The current workaround is to create a directory using English characters and use that folder as your Nexa folder until the issue is resolved.
Could you please let us know which non-English characters are used in your Windows username?
Yes i have non-English “á” character.
