The month of March marked the active developments across the Nexa blockchain. From the main layer updates to wallets and ecosystem projects. More significant governance decisions were taken by the Bitcoin Unlimited organization, successfully bringing the BU executive into day-to-day operations.

Bitcoin Unlimited Improvement Proposals: Voting Results for BUIPs 221–224
The team is pleased to announce the results of the Bitcoin Unlimited voting. BU members voted on BUIPs 221–224, with voting concluding on 28 February 2026. BUIP 221, delegating operational matters to the BU Executive, passed and provides a foundation for more flexible day-to-day operational management in support of Nexa’s long-term success.

Nexa x Origami: Trading Competition
The Nexa team are pleased to share the first Nexa trading competition on Origami with the community. This event will start on 30 March 2026 at 12:00 UTC and end on 20 April 2026 at 12:00 UTC. The prize pool for the Nexa competition is 6,500,000,000 NEX, to be distributed among the top traders. Registration is open, and more details are below.

Build On Nexa: BONFire #3 Making Crypto Accessible
BONFire #3 took place on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, at 7:00 PM AEST, in partnership with EvolvH3R and All Things Blockchain. This time, we used a different format, and Nexa’s President, Andrew Clifford, joined Shanice Desilva (Nexa Business Development) and Danielle Marie (EvolvH3R Founder) to provide more insights into Nexa’s ecosystem development. From 1 March to 14 March 2026, the team pushed a mix of practical fixes and steady progress across the ecosystem. Some changes are the kind users will notice right away, like cleaner explorer behavior and updated wallet tooling. Others are quieter but just as important, such as tightening spec details to prevent compatibility issues and improving how keys are handled in VotePeer.
