Proposal: Nexa-Powered Decentralized Multi-Currency Payment System Idea

Hello Nexa Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I have been closely following Nexa’s development and am truly impressed by the vision and dedication behind the project. I’d like to share an idea that could significantly expand Nexa’s utility and adoption globally, especially in underbanked and emerging markets.

Proposal Overview

The concept is to build a Nexa-powered multi-currency payment system — a virtual or physical payment card or app linked to Nexa wallets that:

Allows users to hold Nexa tokens and spend them anywhere by instantly converting Nexa to their local fiat currency at the time of purchase.

Enables users to switch their preferred spending currency seamlessly in the app settings (e.g., USD, CAD, EUR, DZD).

Avoids the need for traditional banking intermediaries like Visa or Mastercard, thus eliminating their 2–3% transaction fees.

Adds a small, transparent fee (e.g., ~1–1.5%) to cover regulatory costs and ecosystem support, which is added to the purchase price so the merchant receives the full amount.

Supports merchants by offering zero monthly fees, no bank contracts, and instant settlement.

Creates a borderless, affordable payment system ideal for regions where banking infrastructure is limited or costly, such as North Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.

Why This Matters

Many regions are excluded from modern payment systems due to prohibitive fees and lack of access. Nexa’s fast, low-cost blockchain offers a unique opportunity to build a decentralized, inclusive payment ecosystem that benefits buyers and merchants alike.

Next Steps

I am not a developer nor currently able to fund this, but I believe this idea aligns strongly with Nexa’s long-term vision. I am sharing it here in hopes the core team or the community might consider exploring, discussing, or developing it further.

Please let me know if there is a formal process for submitting ideas or if this can be discussed in the appropriate Nexa ecosystem channels.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
