TradeOgre: Assets on the Move

We have been closely monitoring the situation with the TradeOgre exchange and recently noticed movements in addresses belonging to the platform. Some of the assets from exchange wallets were transferred with an attached on-chain message. While this information has not been officially confirmed, the on-chain markers strongly suggest its legitimacy.

Crypto assets controlled by the RCMP

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canada’s national police service, has control over certain crypto assets through on-chain markers. In a recent Ethereum transaction (Etherscan link), the input data includes the message: “Crypto assets controlled by the RCMP – Cryptoactifs contrôlés par la GRC”.

This indicates that the possibly seized funds are now under RCMP authority, consistent with the agency’s expanding use of digital asset warrants and seizures in fraud and financial crime investigations. The RCMP, often working with provincial and federal regulators, plays a central role in enforcing Canadian law across both traditional and digital financial systems. Their on-chain declaration serves as a rare and direct acknowledgment of official control, underscoring how law enforcement is increasingly integrating blockchain transparency into asset management and public communication.

TradeOgre is Unreachable

In our previous report on 4 August 2025, we noted that the exchange had been down for several days without further information. Out of responsibility to Nexa users, we have continued monitoring the situation. Unfortunately, as more time passes, the likelihood of the exchange resuming normal operations appears increasingly slim. The latest news and indications from the RCMP suggest that the exchange may have been seized by law enforcement.

Closing Note

As the situation has not been officially confirmed by either the TradeOgre exchange or the RCMP, this article is based on the on-chain information provided in the link above. We will continue to release updates on this matter as it develops.
