Bitcoin Unlimited Improvement Proposals (BUIPs) are the backbone of Bitcoin Unlimited governance. November 2025 marks a milestone with two key BUIPs passing in the latest vote. The voting round covering BUIP219 and BUIP220 reached the required quorum and concluded with full approval from participating members.

BUIP219: Andrew Clifford Elected as Bitcoin Unlimited President
The first proposal, BUIP219, concerned the re-election of Andrew Clifford as President of Bitcoin Unlimited. Andrew Clifford has long played a central role in guiding BU’s development direction and governance. His reappointment ensures continuity in leadership at a time when Bitcoin Unlimited continues to expand and grow.
The proposal received unanimous approval (10:0:0), reaffirming the membership’s confidence in Andrew Clifford’s leadership.
BUIP220: Admission of New Member – Steven VDM
The second proposal, BUIP220, nominated Steven VDM for membership in Bitcoin Unlimited. New members play a pivotal role in shaping BU’s proposals, contributing expertise, and participating in governance votes. Steven’s election passed with the same unanimous support (10:0:0), officially welcoming him into the Bitcoin Unlimited member base.
