Our team worked hard to establish important infrastructure for Nexa’s ecosystem this year with the goal of encouraging users to deepen their interest and participation. We also began development on new demo’s, and outlined solution architecture for core use cases.
Our primary focus for the ecosystem in 2025 was to make Nexa:
-
More accessible for new developers and builders
-
Easier to build on with helpful documentation, intuitive tooling and SDK’s/protocols that meet industry standards which developers from other ecosystems would be acquainted with
-
Create an onboarding track that empowers builders on Nexa to create meaningful, utility driven products/solutions/dApps that truly demonstrate the network’s capability
The results: In our ecosystem now, we have a growing range of community owned projects such as an AMM DEX and creator-first token/NFT launchpad, numerous token projects, Web3 games and even a prediction market in alpha, mining hardware solutions, point-of-sale solutions, multiple use cases spanning provenance tracking for supply chain, encrypted data transfer solutions… The list is growing, and goes on.
There has never been a better time to Build On Nexa.
Here is an overview of the releases, updates and accomplishments in Nexa’s ecosystem in 2025:
Infrastructure, Demo Apps, dApp Templates and Wallets
Wally Wallet: We completed a full redesign of the Wally Wallet website and integrated the first
version of Chart Buddy, a real-time charting and oracle data tool for enhanced user insight. Wally
Wallet is undergoing continuous improvements and frequent development, with a focus on creating seamless user in-app experiences for users.
Otoplo Wallet: In 2025, Otoplo underwent a comprehensive transformation focused on enhancing user experience, performance, and compatibility with the broader dApp ecosystem on Nexa. The wallet has been updated with a modern, unified interface across all platforms, creating a smoother and more intuitive user journey. From a functionality standpoint, users gained the ability to switch between mainnet and testnet, use single-address dApp accounts, and interact with Nexa-native tokens (NRC-1) and NFTs (NRC-3), with IPFS support for rich metadata.
NiftyArt: Nexa’s first NFT platform has undergone a full front-end and back-end refactor, with
updated features and redesigned UX/UI, making for an even more seamless experience.
Ecosystem Infrastructure, Demo Apps and dApp Templates: This year, Nexa’s developer
infrastructure advanced significantly with improvements across core libraries and tooling.
NexScript migrated from nexcore-lib to libnexa, added compiled debug maps, upgraded the test
suite to Vitest, and fully removed reliance on libauth, resulting in a cleaner and more maintainable codebase.
Parallel updates to the Explorer and Playground are in progress, enhancing on-chain visibility and
developer experimentation environments.
To accelerate ecosystem adoption in 2026, B.U is also now developing a suite of demo applications for B2B engagement and promotional use, alongside a library of dApp example templates designed to streamline wallet–dApp communication and provide builders with clear starting points for integrating with the Nexa network.
Developer Tooling, Documentation and Support
Libnexa-ts SDK release: This comprehensive library provides a reliable SDK for TypeScript/JavaScript apps that need to interface with the Nexa network.
Typescript Wallet SDK release: A comprehensive SDK that provides wallet functionality,
transaction building, token operations, and more.
BON (Build On Nexa) Launch: In Q3, Nexa launched its pilot Builder Program and repository of
developer tools, libraries and guides, called BON (Build On Nexa). Along with BON, we launched
our BONFire live workshops which will continue to follow a bi-monthly schedule.
Libnexa-Python: Work on Libnexa-Python is also underway, with the aim of broadening language
support for builders.
Looking ahead to 2026, a season of community building and growth
As we now look ahead to 2026, Nexa’s strategic focus for the ecosystem is firmly on expansion
through regional activation, community growth, and deeper developer engagement.
Our team will be rolling out targeted initiatives in key markets, collaborating with universities and local educational and business partners to onboard fresh talent, and driving developer adoption through an expanded BON (Build On Nexa) program. This includes introducing new BONQuest challenges, educational onboarding tracks, and enhanced support systems to help builders bring their big ideas to life.
With an emphasis on grassroots community growth and intuitive tooling, our goal is to
make Nexa the most accessible, low-barrier UTXO L1 for real-world use cases in payments,
gaming, provenance, and tokenisation.
Thank you to every single builder in our ecosystem for your continued enthusiasm and creativity.
2026 is going to be great, let’s build!
