Crypto, Not Bitcoin: As Demonstrated by the Nexa Blockchain
Andrew Stone, who has played a central role in Bitcoin’s technical and ideological evolution for over a decade, presented his talk Crypto, Not Bitcoin in Miami. His discussion examined the ways in which Bitcoin has transitioned from its early vision of an open, expressive, peer-to-peer system to a structure shaped largely by institutional influence and narrowly defined functionality.
The presentation expands this perspective by illustrating how cryptocurrencies can serve as expressive tools for identity, ownership, and exchange, and it highlights how the Nexa blockchain embodies these principles in practice today.

Ecosystem Projects Developments
The first part of December brought notable progress across community led initiatives. To highlight the work of ecosystem contributors, the following updates summarize what has been released so far and what is currently in development.
The team behind 137Devs announced ongoing testing of a decentralized exchange on the Nexa testnet, with a mainnet deployment planned in the near term. Alongside the DEX, work is continuing on the ecosystem’s first stablecoin, expected to accompany the platform’s next major release.
A further milestone was delivered by long-standing community moderator and project developer Oldremy, whose Pixelpups initiative introduced the first Web3 casino style games on Nexa. Designed to be fast, fully on-chain, and provably fair, the initial set of games includes Dice (Alpha), Poker (Beta), and Blackjack (Beta). These early releases represent a meaningful step forward for community built applications and practical on-chain use cases.
