Recent Team Expansion
Following recent updates to our team structure, we are proud to welcome Steven van den Meiracker to the Nexa development team. Steven brings over 25 years of professional software engineering experience and will be contributing to Nexa’s core technology and backend systems.
Steven is a seasoned software developer and technical leader, based in Australia. His journey into computing began early, working at a local computer shop during high school before graduating at the top of his class in Computing and Software Development from Monash University in 1998.
From there, Steven joined a forward-looking software company, where he helped build early interactive websites, business systems, and industrial applications. Rising through leadership and eventually joining the management team, he guided the company’s expansion into global markets until its acquisition by a U.S.-based firm in 2017. He remained in a senior role leading development and support teams across the Asia-Pacific region until late 2024.
After taking a brief career break, Steven encountered Nexa during the Australian Crypto Convention in Sydney in November 2024. Impressed by the project’s architecture, values, and the legacy of Bitcoin Unlimited, he quickly began building on the Nexa blockchain, developing an NFC-based solution for secure data exchange using Nexa’s advanced scripting and distributed storage.
Now officially part of the team, Steven brings a unique mix of deep technical insight, real-world business understanding, and proven execution. His contribution is expected to play a vital role as Nexa expands its developer toolkit, scales adoption, and integrates into new application spaces.

Outside of his technical work, Steven is a collector of rare books, enjoys restoring vintage computers, and plays the drums, a mix of creativity and precision that perfectly reflects the spirit of the Nexa community.
