Nexa Monthly Newsletter February 2026: The Road Ahead

The long-anticipated Nexa Development Roadmap has finally been released. A lot of low-level blockchain improvements are planned and on the way. February sets the direction for 2026 and 2027, which will transform Nexa into the first traditional blockchain-DAG hybrid. More activities from the previous month include the Build on Nexa (BON) program and improved development tools. Altogether, the team is looking forward to the execution of the freshly released roadmap in the coming year.

Build on Nexa: BONFire #2 with Andrew Stone

The second episode of Build on Nexa, BONFire #2, concluded on 28 January 2026 on the Nexa Discord. This time, Nexa’s Lead Developer, Andrew Stone, joined Ecosystem B2B Lead Shanice and Community Manager Francis to discuss ecosystem initiatives, developer tools, and support. NEXA Development Roadmap 2026–27

The Nexa Team is excited to introduce the Nexa Development Roadmap for 2026 and the first half of 2027. The roadmap includes long-anticipated blockchain improvements and important infrastructure projects coming together. It is not limited to these developments; there are plenty of side projects and ongoing work in parallel. The roadmap provides a strong signal about where Nexa is heading this year and early next year. The coming two years are set to bring major releases. A lot of complex developments have been taking place for a while. Blockchain projects and ecosystem applications are organized into different streams based on their focus on the blockchain protocol or business-facing use cases.

New Release: Libnexa-TS 3.0.0

The Libnexa-TS SDK for TypeScript and JavaScript has entered the 3.0 release line with changes that focus on how the library is delivered and used across different environments. Version 3.0.0 updates the package to follow modern JavaScript standards and sets a clear baseline. It also makes the SDK easier to use in web projects. Version 3.0.1 is a small maintenance update that improves how TypeScript type information is delivered to developer tools and updates dependency versions.

The Money of the Internet: Nexa

Since the inception of cryptocurrencies, there has been significant interest and hype around this technology. Each attempt at adoption ended in major scalability bottlenecks, ever-increasing fees, and ultimately political discussions. So far, the potential of cryptocurrencies has not been realized as the backbone of the internet, removing the middlemen and serving as programmable digital cash. All of this was envisioned by Satoshi, but never happened. However, all of this is still absolutely possible. Since then, technology has evolved, and the only bottleneck is political debates and actual adoption.

February is marked as a month of continuous development around the ecosystem and the main layer. The newly released roadmap signals commitment and long-term plans for improving the Nexa blockchain. Long-ongoing efforts to improve innovative protocols are finally nearing completion. The next promising phase is just around the corner. Exciting times are ahead!
