Happy Holidays from the Nexa Team! This is our last weekly news for this year and we want to recap some of the big things that happened at Nexa during this week.
Peter Rizun at the Australian Crypto Convention
Peter Rizun had a presentation at the Australian Crypto Convention and introduced how custom hardware can make blockchain faster and more efficient, instead of using software Peter is working on hardware level solutions.
- Explained how special hardware could handle transactions much faster than current software solutions.
- Peter is working on chips that combine mining and transaction processing, making the system both faster and cheaper to run.
- A powerful chip, called Nexa-PoW ASIC, is in the works and could be ready by 2026.

Blitz — A digital-signature verification engine for the Nexa software
Blitz is an FPGA-based accelerator card designed and part of a new generation of hardware intended to accelerate intensive parts of transaction and block processing done by the full-node decentralized network. This technology will enable faster transactions at greater volumes. It is a small but powerful card that fits into your computer’s M.2 slot or connects via USB. It’s designed to handle specific tasks faster than general-purpose CPUs by leveraging FPGA (field-programmable gate array) technology.

Nexa Spaces with Peter Rizun: A New Chapter in Scaling and Australian Crypto Convention
We are working on new ways to make blockchain faster, cheaper and easier to use. Our goal is to connect mining improvements directly to how we validate transactions. This will help our network grow and handle more users without slowing down.
- Our mining algorithm will be the same as transaction validation, like checking signatures or looking up balances.
- Some tasks, like checking signatures, are slow in software but much faster in hardware
